It's almost spring!

I've impatiently been waiting for the temps to go up and get out in the yard. Spring brings a lot of things for me to do outside in the flower beds. It also gives me a lot to look at inside as well, as there are going to be a bunch of orchids opening blooms shortly. Here are a few that have opened since I last posted.

To the left here is Phalaenopsis Linda Cheok (mannii X equestris). This plant is on the smaller side, with a leafspan of approx. 10 inches.
To the right is Phalaenopsis Lovely Kid (parishii X lobbii). Very small dark leafed primary hybrid.

Next, we have Phalaenopsis Sogo Vivien (left), which is considered a miniature. This plant currently has a leafspan of approx. 6 inches.
(Right) Phalaenopsis Liu's Cute Angel, also another miniature, current leafspan is approx 6 inches as well. Bother wonderful growing little plants.

This last photo is of Phalaenopsis I-Hsin Spot Eagle 'Montclair'. The flowers on this plant are EXTREMELY thick, waxy, and shiny. They last for a very long time, and it is rare that the plant doesn't have at least one open flower. It is fragrant, and smells sickly sweet to me.

I can only hope that you enjoyed looking at the current blooming photos. Hopefully I will be back soon with more recently opened blooms to share.
